A Belo sandwich in an instant

Watch above to see how to make a Belo protein roll.

The preparation method is the same for all sandwiches, but the amount of liquid varies.

Check the packaging for the correct quantities!

  • Place the contents in a bowl
  • Place 1-3 eggs in a measuring cup and fill up to 290ml
  • Add this to the bowl together with 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Mix gently with a spoon and then let it rest for 10'
  • Form -without too much- an oval bun and make 3 crosswise incisions of 1 cm
  • Bake for 45 minutes in a preheated convection oven at 175°C
  • Let cool on a rack

Do not knead

Since there is no gluten in the rolls, you do not have to knead the bread. Mix everything together, as indicated and let it rest for 10'. Afterwards, you only form a roll with your hands, by bringing the mixture together into an oval shape without cracks and holes. A little pressure is ok, but by kneading you press all the air out of the mixture. A Bready will never be as airy as a bread from the baker, but it will rise well. The Plant-based version Bollywood

For a good result it is important to preheat the oven to 200°C for the Bollywood mix.

It can be made perfectly well without an egg, but the bun will need a little more heat and time to rise in the oven.

Always let the bun cool in the oven for 10 minutes and cool completely before cutting it.

Do not use too much water

Many measuring cups are not very accurate, which results in too much water being mixed into the bread mix. This will cause the bread to rise unevenly and remain sticky.
That's why I usually use a scale to weigh the ml into grams of warm water.

Don't have a scale?

It is better to measure out a little less water than too much.

Did you accidentally use too much water?

Make rolls or put the mixture in a baking tin and bake at 200°C.

Fat is essential

Don't forget to add 1 generous tablespoon of olive oil or melted coconut oil.
Without the fat the bun will become dry and crumbly.

Baking is chemistry, or rather magic ;-)
